Benefis Health System in Great Falls, Montana, has a great opportunity for a Psychologist to provide services in our Rehabilitation/ Behavioral Health Inpatient Units. This is a great opportunity to assist patients with disabilities, chronic illness, life altering medical conditions and help them overcome emotional and mental challenges related to those permanent or temporary disabilities. Psychologists role includes: - Practice independently with a focus on rehabilitation counseling, including individual, family and group therapy
- Clinical assessment, behavioral health treatment, care coordination and crisis intervention of patient and their families on the acute inpatient rehabilitation unit and the acute inpatient medical behavioral health unit
- Counsel patients in government and or private disability programs and complete assessments for disability counseling needs
- Provide assistance and counseling for caregivers of disabled people
- Document these evaluations and treatments in an interdisciplinary care plan to meet regulatory and compliance standards of the Rehab PPS program
- Help to remove the cognitive and emotional barriers that are preventing them from leading a fuller life and deal with issues related to interpersonal relationships, self-esteem or mental challenges preventing healing
- Utilizes individual, family and group modalities within expected practice standards and as informed by the professional literature.
- Meets with patient/family and works with treatment team to assist in developing specific, realistic, and measurable treatment goals and objectives.
- Employs strategies of intervention that are consistent with empirically supported treatments and consistent with program expectations.
- Providing culturally appropriate, family-centered and trauma-informed interactions and interventions across all professional and clinical settings.
- Utilizes skills to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team on the inpatient rehab unit and inpatient behavioral health unit, providing interventions, participating in rounds, and assisting with treatment and discharge planning and post-hospitalization linkage.
Departmental Information: - The Rehab Unit is a 20-bed unit with an average case load of 6-12. Managing trauma, coping, adjustment, and a holistic approach to treating the patient and family.
- The Behavioral Health unit is a 20-bed unit with an average case load of 6-12 patients who are admitted with medical issues and a co-occurring mental illness.
- Outpatient practice is provided in a clinic setting and provides a continuation of psychology services to Rehab and Behavioral Health patients post-acute stay.
Additional Requirements and Information: - Ability to receive licensure in the State of Montana for PhD or Psy.D
- Remains current in general knowledge of psychopharmacology regarding behavioral healthcare and collaborates consistently with team Physiatrist or Psychiatrist.
- Completes clinical charting and other related documentation in accordance with policy standards.
- Maintains productivity expectations in the clinic setting.
- As part of the treatment team, effectively coordinates client care with other service providers and community resources to assure continuity of care.
- Meets regularly with Inpatient Rehabilitation and Behavioral Health Development Team.
- Attends routine staff meetings.
- Teaches "Skills Days" to staff and providers quarterly in areas of your expertise.
- Demonstrates willingness to seek/accept direct supervision as well as respect productive feedback from colleagues and others.

Work Hours and Call Coverage Flexible schedule based on census on inpatient units and desired outpatient appointment scheduling. Generally 8:00-5:00 pm, Monday - Friday.
