Geisinger Medical Center’s 45-bed Emergency Department cares for over 50,000 patients per year, including nearly 8,000 pediatric patients. Our brand new 9-bed pediatric zone was designed with babies, children, teens and their families in mind. Using nitrous sedation, we do our best to remain an “ouch-less” ED, and with over 50 certified PEM nurses throughout the system, quality, safety and comfort are our top priorities. Children admitted from our ED are cared for in Geisinger’s Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, a 90-bed, 5 floor on-site children’s hospital which includes a 14 bed PICU and 41 bed NICU. Our children’s hospital provides a comprehensive range of pediatric services including a full array of medical and surgical subspecialties.
Geisinger is seeking candidates with superior clinical and interpersonal skills and a strong desire to participate in program development, medical education and research. Candidates must be Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship trained.

GEISINGER MEDICAL CENTER: (GMC), located Danville, Pa., the largest tertiary/quaternary care teaching hospital in the region, is licensed for 475 beds, including 89 pediatric beds in the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. GMC, a Magnet Hospital, maintains the region’s only Level 1 Regional Resource Trauma Center with additional qualifications in pediatrics.
