Performs routine duties and delegated assignments under the supervision of the program manager, unit nurse and/or other designee to help meet the mission and goals of quality care and service in Behavioral Services. Responsible for providing safe, effective and timely actions to ensure safe observation of medication self-administration under the direction of the staff RN.Participates in the admission procedure.

• Maintains safety on unit and off the unit
• Completes day-to-day unit operations
• Performs basic patient care routines and procedures according to treatment plan
• Maintains a therapeutic relationship with all patients
• Functions as a supportive team member by utilizing effective communication, modeling and promoting an atmosphere of openness and supportive team work.
• Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served

Physical Demands: Standing, walking, reaching above shoulders, reaching waist level, reaching below knee, climbing, lifting above shoulders <10-20 lbs, lifting waist level 50 lbs, lifting below knee 50 lbs, writing, pushing, hearing, squat/kneeling, repetitive actions, keyboarding, speaking, seeing/visual.
Mental Demands: Frequent people contact, irregular work schedule, detailed work, frequent interruptions, decision making skills, concentration, ability to work independent, multiple concurrent tasks, frequent deadlines, organizational skills, ability to work with others.

6 months experience with direct patient care in a behavioral services, recovery services or mental health setting or completion of 1 year post high school education in a human services related field.
Knowledge of physical, psychosocial and cognitive developmental needs of population served.
Knowledge of age appropriate outcomes and interventions.

Prefer Post High School education in a human services related field,1-3 years experience in Recovery Services and knowledge of AA/NA 12 step program.
