The New Mexico VA Healthcare System (NMVAHCS) Behavioral Health Care Line is seeking an experienced independently licensed provider (Psychiatrist, Nurse Practitioner, Psychologist or Social Worker) to lead the Outpatient Specialty Mental Health Programs at the Raymond G. Murphey Medical Center. The primary role of the incumbent will be to develop a system of coordination across Specialty Mental Health Programs. The incumbent will facilitate and Lead the Substance Use Disorders, PTSD (Men's and Women's Trauma Treatment) and Psych Primary Care Programs, This position will report to the Chief of Psychology. The Behavioral Health Care Line (BHCL) at New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS) is one of the largest clinical care lines within the Southwest Region Veterans Integrated Service Network. The BHCL provides medical and mental health services to Veterans state-wide and the VA catchment area of SW Colorado. The facility is located on a beautiful and well maintained campus in Albuquerque in view of the Sandia Mountains and the nearby Sandia National Laboratories. It is an affiliated training site for the University of New Mexico Campus and Medical School. Incumbent has overall responsibility for the operation and management of MTTP, WSDTT and SUD programs at NMVAHCS all of which are programs designed to deliver specialized, complex, highly professional services that are important program components of the facility and that significantly impact the health care provided to Veterans. The work of this position is highly complex, involving broad program management skills, supervisory skills and clinical skills, all of which require the exercise of mature autonomous judgment and flexible use of a wide range of professional abilities. Decisions across assignments are made exercising wide latitude and independent judgment. The incumbent directly or indirectly supervises all specialty care clinic providers. The incumbent reports to the Section Chief of Outpatient Mental Health but largely operates on a day-to-day basis in an independent manner, with full responsibility to keep the supervisor or BHCL leadership team apprised of activities and any issues in need of close collaboration. The incumbent advises the Behavioral Health Care Line leadership team, BHCL program managers and the facility's Executive Leadership Team concerning specialty care services at the individual patient level and for the facility and the Veteran community. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
